When Carter was readmitted to hospital at 8 days old with hypothermia, low blood sugar, and what has been described as a "near SIDS incident", we got to witness first hand how amazing the staff at ward 4K are. The 4K Children's Ward LGH Auxiliary are also amazing, and raise funds for much needed items for the children’s ward at the Launceston General Hospital, and are finalists for a $1,500 Coles grant to help purchase medical items. Currently the hospital is in need of a resuscitation trolley which this grant will help towards.

I recently found my phone photos from then (the only ones we had as we left for the hospital in such a hurry the camera was the last thing on our minds).
Trying to warm up!
Not a well boy
So many blankets and still so cold - so cold we couldn't get a temperature reading before he headed in to hospital
Starting to feel better after being on the warming bed
We were lucky enough to have our own room for part of the stay
Lauren and Patrick enjoyed visiting!
I'm hoping it's not a place we have to visit again, but if we do, it will be great to know the auxiliary is doing everything they can to help children and their families be as comfortable as possible while in hospital.
Happy, healthy Carter says "thanks for voting!"
