Shhhhhhh!

I got a phone call recently to register for a mystery shopping organisation I applied to online. They have jobs in Launceston and Northern Tasmania coming up. I had to register, fill out some forms, and do a test, and then it's all go! It may only be once a month or so, but why not get paid to shop?
This organisation sound really professional and should be fun to work for. I recently completed my first assignment - it was great.
Can't tell you any details though - it's a secret!
P.S. How good are the Hawks!!!

The Boys Are Back In Town!

The Kids had the day off to go to Aurora Stadium to see the
Mighty Hawks bring home the Premiership Cup

Hungry Hawk fan -Hawk Park The obligatory no-one looking happy photo! Sam and his cup arriving by helicopter The boys and their Tassie toys The all looked a bit seedy including Alastair! Sam the Man! Crawf! Tassie Boy Birchall Hungover Hawks? It's Ours!!!!! We had a great spot right in front of the grandstand and stage where they were. There were WAY too many people lined up for autographs BEFORE we got there, and with all the kids, we decided not too hang around.
What a great day!
I'm really hoping Lisa has a photo of Brad for me!!!

Not sure if you've heard...

GO THE MIGHTY HAWKS!!!!!!!!!
The Hawks best and fairest award- The Peter Crimmins Medal -
is announced on Saturday night.
Vote for your tip on the poll on the right.
If he's not on there, leave a comment here
with who you think will win.
I know it's unlikely for Crawf, as he wasn't in for the whole season, but I'd like him to get another one before he retires!
My pick is Brad Sewell for back-to-back winner!

Georgina
Yes - Mum AND Clea are texting!!!

TODAY'S THE DAY!

If I've been awake half the night, can't eat, and just want 2.30pm to GET HERE, how must "The Boys" feel? I kept having bizarre Hawks dreams - one that involved me being back at Uni, in the cafeteria with...Brad Sewell of course, and he wanted to meet my Mum! Wishful thinking a decade (or 2) too late!
I can't think straight, am having trouble typing, and YES it is tragic - but in a good way! We've waited a L-O-N-G time for this!
GO HAWKS!!!!!!!!!
(please!)

Sassy's new coat!

IT'S NEARLY HERE!

This time tomorrow, the MIGHTY HAWKS will be getting ready to play the game of their lives! What a nice change it is to actually be excited about a Grand Final!
I just hope it's a good game and not a thrashing...
I don't think the Cats could handle it!
GO HAWKS!!!
MY TIP - BRAD SEWELL FOR THE NORM SMITH MEDAL!

Fantastic Photos!

Last week when we went to Just Swim, Georgina took some fantastic photos with her new camera!
Cousins - Patrick and David
Patrick somersaulting Just Chillin'! Lauren jumping in Up close and personal - Lauren and Georgina Camera shy! David and Patrick Lovely laughing Lauren! Check out the bubbles coming out of her nose! I think this one could be a finalist in the 2009 Smile With Centro comp!

Home is where the heart is

When I posted the rainy day photo on Monday ("Today's the day"), I noticed our shrub looked a bit like a heart. Yesterday Shayne got the hedge trimmers out and cut a piece out so it's even more heart like!
Lauren and Patrick liked our heart!
No - we wont be doing topiary animals next
- although, maybe we could do a Hawk!

Smoke on the water.

Lauren likes to do performances for us. She sets up her "stage", arranges seats for the audience, and writes a script. Last night it included electric guitar playing, recorder playing (my personal favourite - otherwise known as the misery stick!), a dance recital by Fairy Floss the bear, beanie kid tricks, and food for sale "for low prices" She's quite the entertainer, and loves to sing in the Choir at school, and has a lovely voice. Let's hope she keeps performing for us for years to come.
Deep Purple protege!
I'll keep this photo for her Idol audition.

Cat cupboard capers

It was so cold last night, I had to put the heater back on for a while! Sassy is not silly, and sits in the cupboard right near the heater - warm without being too hot!
Best seat in the house!
Where is that warmth coming from..? Ahh- there it is! She really was thinking that! And, then she thought...
GO HAWKS!!!
(even she's going against the Cats!)
Speaking of cats... how good is it, that "The Cats Show"came to an abrupt end with them missing out on the Brownlow?
Maybe they are not as unbeatable as the media (and the Cats!) would like you to believe. Only time will tell!
The HAWKS did very well with many getting votes, and especailly Buddy with 20, Brad with 16, and Sam with 15!

Today's the day...

....or at least it was supposed to be!!!
After a month of birthday parties (and all the left overs), school holidays, sickness, and too many footy "pizza and pie" nights, today WAS going to be the day I began eating better, exercising more and generally not being so lazy!
So much for my good idea! I had planned to start being "good" today - first day of term 3, Spring weather and at least two weddings to "prepare" for, but no such luck! Not only is it raining (still!), but it's cold, miserable and there's no chance of a walk today!
Also, it seems that every time I turn the radio on, Donut King are advertising their new "adult" donut sensations - flavours like blueberry and white chocolate, apple and rhubarb crumble, and cookies and choc mousse! Our local radio station is running a Donut King promotion, so you can't escape it! After Lauren's donut cake, I thought I would never look at another donut again, but with these new flavours bombarding me, and such good hot choc and donut weather, it could get tempting!

Hopefully tomorrow the sun will be out, I'll get a L-O-N-G walk in,
and all will be well!
Oh, and one more thing...

GO HAWKS!!!

(and GO BRAD SEWELL in the Brownlow tonight!)

WOO-HOO! THEY'RE IN!

The Mighty Hawks won! Happy Hawks Fan Chance Bateman Brad Sewell - what a good sport! The Final score! Yes I am Proud, Paid Up, Passionate AND fanatical -
I felt sick all day in anticipation.
GO HAWKS!!!
*New Grand Final poll on right awaiting your input!
Oh - and for "he-who-chose-the-Saints" (you know who you are!),
I guess they WON'T be coming marching in this year...
"We're a Happy team at Hawthorn..."

Footy fun

Tonight we gathered at Mark and Jac's to watch the
Mighty Hawks V Sappy Saints in the semi-final.
The kids love it when I get the camera outCOUSINS
Georgina 15, Patrick 9, David 8, Lauren 8, Clea 3

Sassy even got into the act afterwards...

.... trying to catch the Hawks balloons!

Tonight's the night!

Well, so much for my prediction! The Cats are through to the AFL Grand Final next weekend, after beating the Dogs last night. Now all the Mighty Hawks have to do, is beat the Saints tonight and they are in their first Grand Final since 1991! Lets hope we get a repeat of the 1989 Grand Final when the Hawks beat the Cats (for those of us who remember back that far!)
I know, lets just get through tonight before we start talking about next week! All I've got to say is...
GO HAWKS!
*Vote on the polls on the right about where you are from, and grand final teams!

C'mon the Doggies!

I am going for the Western Bulldogs tonight in the 1st AFL semi-final. I think the Cats will win, but the Doggies winning is the only way my round 3 prediction of a Hawks V Bulldogs Grand Final can happen! Tomorrow night is going to be VERY tense!
GO HAWKS!

Neighbourhood watch

We live at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac which is great. Until recently, there were no other kids around, but now we have two on either side - three who are close in age to Patrick and Lauren. Unfortunately they all love to play on the road, so I wouldn't let Patrick and Lauren play with them. Over the holidays, I realised they were missing out, so let them play together as long as they play in our drive. We have a basketball hoop, so the kids come over regularly.
Lauren and her fan club!
It would be great if the parents occasionally checked on them, but they don't seem to care - I'm the only one ever out there, and they are in our drive! I guess they live close enough the parents would hear them scream if anything happened! These days there are so many things the kids can't do - like going to the shop or park by themselves like we used to, it's nice to let them play with the local kids, and at the same time be safe and where we can see them!

And the winner is...

This is the winning photo taken by my friend Lisa.
ANZAC Parade - I love the proud look on Lisa's Pop's face!My favourite - also by Lisa. And of course, the gorgeous girl! Lisa won a camera and printer but the best thing is,
she's in the running for $10,000 in the National final!
Good luck Lisa!
