Most school holidays, Mum and Lauren have a special trip into town for a "girls day". As an extra special "treat" they get to catch the bus home! Yesterday they spent about 3 hours in town and Lauren came home with some pretty fancy bling that she bought with her pocket money. They had afternoon tea at Neil Pitts - where we used to go as kids, and Simon once threw his "cauliflower" (parsley) over the edge - "Don't like that cauliflower!"
Neil Pitts is a very old men's store (for very old men) in town that has a cafe upstairs. Lauren wanted to go to Mum's "favourite" - Fitzy's City Cafe, but we talked her around! I think it's the upstairs that she likes - I certainly remember Neil Pitts for that reason, and don't remember any of the other places we used to go to. Simon's terrible behaviour probably made it stick in my mind!!
They had a great time - no fights, and Lauren was skipping around all night! She's not keen on staying home, and as Paddy and I have been sick, we've all been a bit house bound, so this was an extra special trip!

That is so nice that they do that together. At first I thought it was Shayne writing saying you and her had a girls day together, then it clicked that it was YOUR Mum!
