MasterFoods Meals

On the weekend we trialled the MasterFoods Freebies I received earlier in the month.
This was my favourite - not something I'd usually buy so it surprised me as it was delicious!
Honey Mustard Chicken
Tuscan Meatballs
Beef Stroganoff We also tried a Glade Scented Oil Candle that we got with the pack. It was Dewberry Dreams - not too "over the top" but got rid of the cooking smells in the house.
All the meals were simple to prepare and full of flavour -great if you don't have a lot of time and want something tasty and easy - my kind of meals!

Mmmmm - Cake!

We had our first "family gathering" since the wedding yesterday, as it was Kel's birthday. It was good to catch up with the bride and groom, look at photos and ...EAT!
"Mmmmm - cake!"
Myka was also 3 months old yesterday and he was already checking out the cakes.
Not sure where he gets that from!
There were TWO cakes because I whinged a lot about not having a cake for my birthday!
It worked, and the cakes were yummy - although don't think much of the brown and gold one today!Mum and Myka
At 3 months Myka is no longer a tiny baby, and seems to be growing very fast. Might be time for another baby in the family I think...

A triple celebration..?

After SEVEN L-O-N-G weeks, Tracey, Quinn and Luke are back tonight from their trip to New Zealand - we can't wait to see them tomorrow!
***
It is also Kel's birthday today - HAPPY BIRTHDAY - we'll be there later for cake!

And, not to be forgotten...the Mighty Hawks play tonight - or at least I HOPE that's the team that plays and not the team from the last game here that I won't mention:(
GO HAWKS!!!

Mobile holiday snaps...

I finally downloaded some of the photos from my mobile but most were the same or similar to photos I took with my camera - not like me to double up!!! Anyway - here's a couple from Queensland - it's so cold I'm reminiscing today....
The view from our fantastic apartment!
Lauren had been quite travel sick and ended up vomiting all the first night (yay for me) . All she felt like eating the next day was a dagwood dog!!! Well, in a place that sells EVERYTHING you could possibly want and more - there wasn't anywhere near us that sold them. Luckily a couple of days later we found them at Movie World (of course), and they were the best - hot, fresh and crispy - so worth the wait! I don't know if I mentioned how clean Movie World was - the roads were spotless and there were always people sweeping up and emptying bins - it was great and I'd recommend both MW and Sea World to anyone - both were fantastic and the kids absolutely loved them. The good thing about both the Worlds we visited is that the shows were all just the right length of time - about 20-30 mins - long enough to keep everyone happy without being too long. It was so well done, we are already talking about when we go back!

Scary Sunday!

Beau
Yesterday I was just about to take advantage of being home alone, and do the huge pile of school ironing that was multiplying on the lounge chair, when I heard what sounded like my neighbour coughing loudly. A few seconds later I went out to check and there was Beau, lying on her side trying to cough up a bone! I whacked the poor old girl on the back hoping to help her spit it out, and then raced inside and got a wooden spoon and tried to dislodge it! Despite her eyes being glazed and her tongue blue and lolling out of her head, she still managed to bite the spoon into pieces and my hand with it. When the spoon didn't work, I ran to the only neighbours I talk to and of course they weren't home, so I flew next door - barefoot with blood pouring out of my hand - and asked for help thinking someone may be able to hold her up for me while I tired to pry open her mouth. I asked my neighbour to grab someone else and went back but Beau was down and out - not breathing! I tried again to get to the bone but couldn't reach so gave her two quick breaths into her snout and mouth and then poked again with the spoon and dislodged the bone! She coughed and wheezed for what seemed like an eternity and then tried to stand up - breathing but not well, so I though the bone may still be stuck! By this time the neighbour arrived with my other not so helpful neighbour but I sent them home - Chaos and Bedlam I call them so no help at all! A few minutes later she was fine, and since then has not had a problem! Needless to say I gave her lots of nice, cool smooth food like yogurt and even the kids frozen yogurts as her throat must have been SO sore - especially with me jabbing great long spoons down there!
She had premium mince for tea - nice and soft and NO MORE BONES - with a panadol in it for the pain! She's fine this morning - as for her "mother" I needed a stiff drink!
!!!
Bring on Fab Friday and Super Saturday but NO MORE Scary Sunday's thanks!
*Lol asked me how my hand was this morning and I said it was OK but had been bleeding during the night. She said "poor Mummy, my sore usually just sobs a bit"! I think she meant WEEPS!
