We spent last week on the Gold Coast in a fantastic
apartment in the Chevron Renaissance. I would love to say it was relaxing - and parts of it were - but I came home exhausted!
Tired kids at 6am ready to go to the airport

Tired kids at 6pm

It was such a comfortable apartment and had Austar kids channels - great for relaxing at night after a busy day!

On our first day we met up with my pen-friend Susanne and her husband and boys - Isaac and Jasper. The kids all got on well and we went bowling together. Poor Lol was travel sick and had a horrible headache and spent the first night up throwing up - Shayne and Patrick slept through it though!!!

The views from our apartment in the North Tower - Tower 2 of 3.
We were on the 11th of 48 floors!!!

There were 3 pools - this was our favourite as it was HEATED and INDOORS,
and had a gym attached for me and a wonderful spa!

The kids swam morning and night most days - slept well too!

Paddy in the Tasmanian pool!
Beaches in The Sky on the 6th floor between the 3 towers.

Freezing NOT heated so only us Tasmanian's swam there!!!

Our Tower

The third pool - heated!!!

The view from Beaches In The Sky
Again, mostly Tasmanian's braving the "cold" (15-25 degrees)

The Hard Rock Cafe was just down the road from us so we went there for tea one night

and took a walk around Cavill Avenue and down to the beach

THE WORLDS!
Lol chose Sea World and we went there first and LOVED it!

Paddy very kindly appeased Lauren by going on a few of the kids rides with her.

The monorail

We had a bit of rain as we were leaving but other than that it was a beautiful, warm day

THE RIDES!!!
We all went on the Viking and Bermuda Triangle water rides - enough excitement for Lol and I!
Patrick was VERY brave and went on
Jet Rescue and the Corkscrew - nasty rides!!!

We had a day off with shopping and swimming in between,
then headed to Paddy's choice Movie World!

The Shrek 4D movie was brilliant with the seats moving and special effects like water spraying on us when donkey and the dragon sneezed, and something tickling our legs when a whole lot of spiders came at us - it was so realistic and very well done!

In Patrick's words - "the wussiest rollercoaster ever"
but a good way to start!

Not so wussy Scooby Doo - did NOT like that one! Paddy loved it!

My personal favourite
BATWING Spaceshot!
I somehow got to go first as the
tester and hated it loved it hated it - in that order!!!

Pattrick and Shayne also went on the Wild West ride with the HUGE drop and got VERY wet! I took heaps of video and not so many photos as you tend to miss out on what's going on if you are always taking photos. In saying that, I took over 400 photos and video clips, but over half of those were at the wedding of the year in Melbourne - part 2 coming just as soon as the bride and groom get back from Fiji and I can show them the photos first...

Oh looks like you guys had soooo much fun!!! I'm so jealous. Your apartment looked so nice with all the pools and view. Love the pic of the rainbow with the buildings.
Now you need a holiday after your holiday!! Welcome back - I missed you!
Of course I'm saying exactly the same things as Lisa again.
Welcome back, I have missed you.
I love the dolphins at Seaworld. I end up with about a hundred shots of them, it is so stupid, but I get excited at every trick they do and get carried away, and then I have all these shots of nearly exactly the same thing.
Love Lorraine.

R u mad woman? That last ride looks awful - but i guess if you throw yourself out of a plane batman ain't gonna hurt you!
Oh no - skydiving is not about heights - strange I know, but it's not a height thing. On holiday I had to edge my way slowly on to the balcony on the eleventh floor - HATE that sort of height when you can see the edge and beyond! Hanging off a wing strut or throwing yourself out at 10,00ft is different!
Bring on Batman spaceshot I say!
I have to agree - that batman thing looks horrible! Hope you are having a holiday over our way next year!

People keep asking what the best worlds were - we only went to Sea World and Movie World and thought they were both FANTASTIC! Loved the dolphin show, the gondola, monorail and rides at Sea world - lots of great rides for younger kids like Lauren. The Hollywood stuntdriver's show and Shrek 4D movie at Movie World were fantastic, and we also loved the parade of all the characters. I would reccommend both of these parks. Both were kid friendly (of course) and were SO clean - especially Movie World - it was spotless!
