Go 4th!

On Friday night, the kids had their swimming carnival for Cubs. Fortunately it was a really warm night as it's at Riverside pool which is outdoors. Last year it was freezing, and the kids had beanies and jumpers on and we ate hot pies and drank hot chocolate to stay warm! It's a great night with lots of different events from the Joey's (7 year olds) through to the Venturers (teens). The have a BBQ and lots of great novelty events including the leaders racing which is always funny to watch. Patrick went in 9 events and Lauren in 5, but I think it was Patrick's cheering that got them home!
Lauren (middle) in one of the novelty events
The older Scouts and Venturer's get in and keep an eye on the younger kids and offer lots of encouragement - it's great to see ,and gives me hope that teens can be reasonable, thoughtful, friendly people!
Patrick has really shot away from Lauren in height this year and at 153cm is well on his way to the 6ft4" that we think he's going to be. We ordered him a king single bed yesterday in anticipation of his continued growth!
4th Launceston won the Cubs section again this year! Well done Patrick and Lauren - great effort!

Product of the week...

These are great!
Little one-use disposable breath freshener/toothbrushes. You don't need water and they give you instant fresh breath and that "just brushed" feeling. Ideal for travelling, before an appointment or meeting when you don't have your toothbrush, or for a hot date (I should be so lucky!). They have a really good little rubber toothpick on the end if you are like me and get things stuck in your teeth! I've just done a trial for them and really like them. They will be available in supermarkets in 8 packs for $5.99

It REALLY works!

I have always been sceptical of product claims to "reduce visible lines" - well not any more! After using the Dr Lewinn's Cosmetic Lift today, not only does my skin feel smoother and softer, but I can notice a definite visible difference in my crows feet, frown lines (which are quite deep) and a large deep line on my neck (the one I hate most of all). The cosmetic lift goes on like a mask and stays on for 30 minutes. It felt quite "tight" on, but afterwards didn't leave my skin feeling tight or stinging or even that "burning" feeling I've had with other masks and facials. It's so easy to put on with a brush, comes off easily with cleanser, and you can bet I'll be using it again! The first time you put it on days 1, 5 and 10, and then monthly. Mum also tried it and liked it too, and her skin (which has always been good) looked fresher and softer too.
Simple to mix and use - the Cosmetic lift
I also got the Ultra R4 Restorative cream which feels great on my skin
Shayne is loving the men's range too!
If you've ever wondered what Dr Lewinn's products are like - I can definitely recommend all of the above products. They have a variety of ranges for different ages and skin types and are available at Priceline and Amcal (where they have special promotions on some of their range at the moment), and a variety of other places like Myer and David Jones. This is one trial that I can honestly say I have LOVED, and I will continue to use Dr Lewinn's products!

Facelift - here I come...

Tomorrow I get to try my Cosmetic Lift- the "facelift without surgery", products from Dr Lewinn's on myself and my guinea pigs - I mean family and friends! I've always wanted to try Dr Lewinn's products, and also have their "Ultra R4 - Restorative cream" moisturiser to try, and some men's packs that Shayne's been loving. Before and after photos here soon...

Not that you need a reason....

...but if you haven't joined the Hawks yet, tonight they gave plenty of reasons to back them this season, beating the Tigers at Aurora Stadium
3.6.12 (135) to 0.9.8 (62)
Even Hawka scored!

First day of school...

Lauren LOVES school. Patrick - not so much! Today is the first day of Grade 4 for Lauren and Grade 5 for Patrick. It was 21 degrees when I took this photo this morning before school - I'm hoping it doesn't get too much hotter for their first day. Last year they were cold when they left for school, and had extra layers on!

They were so tiny back then!
Patrick has really shot away from Lauren in height over the past year - we think he's going to be 6ft4" like Uncle Simon, and hopefully Lauren will be a reasonable height too. I hope they have a great day - it makes all our lives so much easier when they enjoy school - or in Patrick's case, can tolerate it!

Last day of the holidays

Today was the last day of the school holidays as our school had a student free day today. I think it's a great idea as the kids then go back for a 3 day week - more than enough school time after over 7 weeks off. It's particularity good as it was 32 degrees again today and I bet there are a lot of hot and tired school kids today! Shayne and Tracey took all four kids for a play at Kids Paradise , as it is Quinn's 3rd birthday tomorrow. It was a great day to go as it was really quiet with most kids at school.
I never liked the water room as it was always slippery and VERY smelly, so I'm glad to see they've made it into a fun room for kids aged 5 and under.

After a fun few hours, Shayne took Patrick and Lauren for a swim at Riverside pool to finish off the holidays in a nice, cool way! It was LOVELY to just go for a swim - child free- this morning and then do a few last minute back-to-school things while they were out. I am SO over this heat!
Thanks to Shayne for the photos.

Summer fun at Squirt's club

Last night we went to Launceston Aquatic after hours for a Squirt's Club family night. On Wednesday at Active Launceston, Patrick won a free family pass to the Aquatic Centre, and there was also some info about Squirt's club for kids in his "show bag", so we joined up and went along for the first time. We were so lucky as there were only about 30 people there, so no queues for the diving board, slide or log runner and the kids had a fantastic time. What a great way to finish the holidays - they go back to school on Wednesday. We are already looking forward to the next event!
Shayne performing the little know "Lamb" dive
The log runner was pretty cool
but VERY hard to stay on!
Because the slide was free all night, they had LOTS of rides - Patrick had the most - about 15!
Shayne thought it was hilarious that they left Patrick behind!
The views at the Aquatic Centre are spectacular - I particularly like this one of Aurora Stadium where we'll be on Saturday night!
GO HAWKS!
