A shot in the arm for Kings Meadows High

Today I donated blood for the 64th time. I took Lauren with me so she could see how it all works (she's been before but it was a while ago) and the staff were excellent giving her a stool to sit on beside me, and some information about blood types and blood products and what they can be used for. They also explained to her that I have the most precious blood (or course you all knew that!) 0- which is the blood they can use for anyone in an emergency before blood typing can be done. There was a man there donationg just the platelets (which can be done fortnightly) and HEAPS of people donating blood. Did you know that you can now donate from 16 years of age? I started at 18 and have been donating pretty regularly ever since. At the moment, our branch of the Red Cross is having a corportae challange, so why not go in with your workmates, a sports team, or a group of friends and donate? There is also a list of groups you can add your donation to, so I chose Kings Meadows High - my old school. I think other states are doing it at the same time as us, and it ends on February 28th so what are you waiting for?
