Why would you put BROWN on a banner when playing Brisbane???
OK, so that's NOT why they lost - they lost because someone who shall remain
nameless spurred Brownie on yesterday!
(see Super Saturday post below)

We had great seats thanks to some very generous friends (thank you)
and even had great hope for a great game - especially when Brad kicked the Hawk's first,
Willo fired up...

and Buddy scored (??)

Unfortunately it pretty much went down hill from there! It was bitterly cold and when they were 7 goals down half way through the final quarter, I knew it was time to go! NEVER have I left a game early before, but faced with staying in the freezing conditions and leaving with all the happy Brisbane fans at the end of the game (as most of the Hawks fans had left by then) we decided a quick escape was the best move! I don't know if it's good or bad that they have a break next week, but with West Coast over there, the Bulldogs at Etihad before North back down here - I hope they do something to get over this "slump" (to put it politely) before it's too late!
Oh, and
GO HAWKS!!!

So sad, so very sad.
It would have been even worse if I had to sit out in the cold. Sob.
Love Loraine.

Sorry - my comment went on the wrong post! We SHOULD blame Aaron!
Thanks a lot Aaron!!!!! Thanks for spurring Brownie on.
Thank you to Lisa & Aaron for the "free" tickets - up until half time it was a good game - I was quite vocal, but quietened down by 3/4 time. Oh well, there is always 2010.
I hate it when we lose, I just love singing (tunelessly) the club song.
Kylie's Mum.
I shall say nothing, but leaving early? shame
Hey city boy - for someone who was going to say nothing you sure said a lot!! We know when we are beaten and are not so silly as to leave with 15,000 other unhappy people at the end of the game and 1,000 Happy Lions!!!
