Ice cream cake - YUM!

Despite not being 100%, Lauren made it through the week and only missed Monday from school (and that was because we made her have it off!) When it's your birthday and you are young, you do everything you can to be well! Me, I'd like to sleep through my next one PLEASE!

As well as getting the Wii and games last week, Lauren also received: the great Big Kid "Fairy Floss" (in yesterday's blog photo with Big Kid and Beanie Kid Fairy Floss - her favourite); a Ben 10 watch and Ben 10 "Protector of the Earth" game for the Wii; some money; books and textas; shampoo and bubble bath; a "Bratz" doll (can never have enough of those!); and a couple of other Beanie kids including "Magic the Fantasy Bear" who is the closest one to Lol's birthday (Magic was "born" on 2nd September 2000 - 2 days before Lauren).

She took fairy party cakes to share at school and got a card and certificate from the teachers. She got to choose what to have for tea - McDonald's - and we had an ice-cream cake.

Patrick and I aren't well, so have spent most of today resting while Lol was at school. She's now at Nanna and Pa's with Shayne getting the rest of her presents, and catching up, as we didn't venture far yesterday - trying to contain the "bug". To those of you who haven't had it BEWARE - it's nasty! Of course work rang me to do a relief shift today - it's always the way, but that's the nature of relief work - filling in for sick people at the time you are likely to be sick or have sick kids yourself!

Mark and Jac are going to the game tonight, so let's hope they cheer loudly enough for us all!
