I was one of many who queued in the rain yesterday to get seats to the Hawks V St Kilda game at Aurora on August 8th. Our Hawks membership gets us general admission but not seats, so we can go online and try, or line up. Until yesterday, I thought you could only easily get member tickets online and then have to do non- members separately which meant you couldn't all always sit together, but I've since found out you go into the members part of the Ticketmaster site, and then add extra non members later. Anyway, lined up from about 8.40am for an hour until we were told that all but standing were sold! It looks like we will have to get the more expensive memberships next year to guarantee seats to all four Hawks rostered games. I didn't want to do that as we don't take the kids to all the games, and like to be able to pick and choose which games they come too. I realised the game would be a sell out, but to sell out so quickly is unheard of here. I just hope that there are not big sections of empty seats on game day as is so often the case at supposedly "sold out" games in the past! I'm also very glad Mum and I have seats to the game against the Kangaroos next week thanks to some very generous friends (again)!
GO HAWKS!

Bad Journo I'd make - just checked my facts and a Hudson Club Hawks membership with reserved seats in the Gunns Stand to 4 games would cost roughly the same for the family as our current memberships + the extra cost we pay for a seat for each game, and there's even cheaper memberships in the Eastern terrace where we like to sit that might be the go next year. Will look into it further...
What a bummer! The same happened to us last year, with the last Hawks game at Aurora. That's why we got the memberships this year. Who would of thought they would of sold out so quickly though?! Sometimes people advertise their tickets in the paper, but you have to be super quick as every man and his dog tries to get them when it's a sell out. So we found out last year.
that is good it's about the same price. We got the 11 game membership or whatever it is as we knew Aaron would be going to Melbourne games a bit this year, and plus we don't go to the Sunday games. Aaron thinks he will just go and try to get a seat on the fence - he will have to go REALLY early! :)
Lisa, there will be ticket giveaways in the examiner in the next few weeks too and 7LA and other places do too so we'll all have to try and win some!
Nicki I think we will get similar memberships to you next year but probably in the Eastern Terrace. Family memberships can have up to 4 kids so we'll put a couple of cousins on too!
I am totally bummed.
Now I will have to again sit with me, myself and I.
Oh!! I forgot about my friend who kept grabbing me and hugging me.
May be he will be there again.
Love Lorraine.

Mum - remember you moved seats to get out of the rain, so if you are sitting in your real seat you won't be next to your 'friend'! :)
Unfortunately I think there will be plenty fo happy Saints fans giving out free hugs on the day:(
