Just Andy

Yesterday the children's author Andy Griffiths visited Patrick and Lauren's school. Lauren wrote a book and last week she emailed Andy to tell him. Yesterday when he came to school, he apparently came to her class looking for her, but she was next door as all the grade 4's from her 3/4 class had gone to their sex education classes, and all her Grade 3's had gone next door to combine classes! Anyway, there had been 125 older kids chosen to go to the hall and hear Andy talk. Because Lauren had missed seeing Andy, she was allowed to go down too and got to talk to him about her book. She told Andy she was writing a book about him and he said he would have to write one about her then! She said to me "Mum, I don't think he really will", but she was pretty happy! Last night we went to Stories Bookshop to see Andy and the kids got autographs, a free book, and an Andy magnet. He was very funny! Lisa, Jalen and Harri were there too. Luckily Lisa took lots of photos as my camera is in the process of dying as you can see by the quality of my photos!

We are sending this one to Andy as my camera flash made his eyes look like one of his Zombies!

Lauren was too shy to show her book, so we have sent Andy a copy. He is a great author and well worth seeing if you get the chance. We saw him last year too - he tours schools and bookshops every year.
