Have you been wondering...

...which energy saver light globes to buy?
Energy saver globes are now the only light globes you can buy, and it's hard to know which ones are any good. I've tried HEAPS of different brands from Chickenfeed specials, to more expensive hardware store globes and these Philips globes are the best I've found. I've been lucky enough to get some free Philips energy saver globes to trial and LOVE them. I have the 12w "Tornado" which is an extra bright globe in my bedside lamp (as the lamp shade blocks a bit of the light) and I like it bright to read without disturbing others in the house. We also have an 11w globe called "ambiance" which gives a nice "soft" light. Check them out - they really are good! You can see more on the Philips site here or on this brief "What's New" segment here. If THAT doesn't convince you, Planet Ark recommends these globes as they use 80% less energy!

I detest those light bulbs.
I know I should be concerned about saving the planet for my grand children, but the 'blue glow' looks so depressing, and cold.
I just want to take them all out and smash them.
Yes I am really passionate about them.
And the house is so much darker.
I bought some older light globes just to put in my bedside lamp.

Love Lorraine.

I was the same as you Lorraine and these don't have that yucky bluey glow and are also not the harsh bright light like some can be.

PS NOT getting paid to say this :)

I will have to give those a go. We have a couple of the cheap ones and they are ok but don't seem to last long. Where do you get those?

Have been using for some time, and find they give a good light.

Janine I get them from Woolies, think Coles/Kmart have them too.

Louise that photo was a couple of weeks ago when Lol hurt her hand at school - it was only sore for a day or two and the bandage was for effect (well - to show off at school really!)

I like them - no drop in light quality and doing our bit to help the environment.

Kylie we only have about one of the old globes left aside from a few fluorescents and we like the ones that say cool light (phillips?) as its nice and bright think it must be because we're getting older, eyesight is going. The warm ones seem to leave us feeling as though we forgot to turn the lights on.
I hope our opinion is helpful

I have wondered about those. Might give them a try now - it's good to know what they are like before buying them.
See you next week.

great for the environment and don't break as easily as the other ones.
