65 Today

Today I donated blood for the 65th time! As well as the usual free biscuit and drink, they had these little "parcels" with a gold chocolate heart inside, trying to encourage people to donate plasma. Because I am 0- which is quite rare and widely used, I donate whole blood every 12 weeks rather than just plasma. Plasma can be donated more often (every 2-3 weeks) as the red blood cells are returned to the donor. Both whole blood and plasma are desperately needed here - and no doubt wherever you are, it's the same! With Winter here and a growing need for blood and blood products, why not donate again if you have in the past, or go in and find out whether you are a suitable donor! The whole process from parking the car (free for blood donors) to filling out paper work, the donation itself (less than 10 mins) and having a relaxing drink afterwards, took less than an hour of my time, and gives a great feeling knowing that my donation has help save lives!

Why not find our more here today?
