Hobart Holiday

We try to get to Hobart for a weekend at least once a year.
Usually we stop at Campbell Town,
but since it's not even half way,
we thought we'd go a bit further before we stopped this time,
and stopped at the St Peter's Pass rest stop.
I remember the topiary animals from trips to Hobart as a kid,
Shayne got a few ideas for our currently heart shaped bush!
A Kiwi!
Dino and friend. Our favourite park on the foreshore near the
Derwent Entertainment Centre The tyre in the foreground sounds
like an accordian when you jump on it!
Reflecting...My little family!

Monkey! Monkeys! No trip to Hobart is complete without a stop at

Sweet Connections!

Peanut Butter Cups (yum)

Buzz Bars and Perky Nana's (?? Kiwi of course!)

(Is your Nana perky???)

There were no pixie caramels though:(

Not posing just resting!

Swimming is tiring you know!

Casino Capers

Aquatic acrobatics!

This bash car just happened to be in our car park -

great for Lol's pirate theme at school!

We were on the 5th floor, overlooking the water.

We had the best view we've had

in all the years we've stayed here.

Another favourite park near the water

What a great place for a swing!

Just a bit sunny - they were enjoying the view from the other way until I wanted another pic!

Aye Aye Captain!

Cheeky monkey in a cage!

We went to my favourite place Mures on Saturday night

and had the best fisherman's baskets for tea!

Our first visit to the Hobart Aquatic centre

We can't wait until ours is open in April!

Auditioning for "It's a knockout"?

Sprinting to the finish line!

Over and under...

...over and...

...UP!
The lifeguard was squirting them with a hose!!!

Bounce off! That purple blur is Lol! Getting a free shower! Soaked! Very tired little fish! We stopped at Campbell Town on the way home.

Lol and Paddy in front of the big log!

Me on Sugar holding Daffy the goat (or course) in front of the big log when it was first put there! We lived in the house behind the log when I was 11 and 12.

It was early morning, I hadn't had a shower and a photographer had seen me riding with our little kid Daff trotting along behind! (Her sister was Dil - as in DAFFoDIL of course!)

What a special photo op it was for that lucky photographer!!!

Paddy on the Transit of Venus 2004 sundial

with my old house in the background!

The patch of grass where my darling Sugar threw me off going over a jump one evening!

Looks softer than it was back then!!!

Lucky for me there were a bus load of Japanese tourists with their cameras at the Grange taking advantage of a funny photo op! I lay on the ground for longer than necessary as Sugar wandered over to the tourists in case they had something to eat! I was 12 and absolutely mortified!

The Grange

So, it you ever stop in that park, think of me cantering around

(or lying!)

in a great big paddock in the days before Campbell Town was the little tourist hot spot it is now!

Both Sugar and I look like we could have done with a hair brush! I used to get up and go for a ride before breakfast - a lovely site for a roaming photographer!

Lisa, you should check out the park near the DEC next time you go to Hobart. It's wheelchair friendly, with a fantastic music section and a cool new wheelchair swing! There always seems to be something new there, and we love it!
