Goodbye Santa:(

Today when Lauren asked me to give a sample of my handwriting to compare with the tooth fairy's I tossed up whether to confess all. As Mum pointed out, it is far better to be told by someone who loves you than a bully at school! Both Paddy and Lol have bullies at school that would love nothing more than to upset them and make them feel bad, so I spilled all this afternoon. I first mentioned that I was actually the tooth fairy, and my lovely, caring boy said "it's OK Lol, you still have the Easter Bunny and Santa to believe in"! I was silent and Lol said "do I Mum - is Easter Bunny real - please don't tell me that's you too?", so I confessed, let her get over that, and you can guess what Paddy said next- "It's OK Lol, at least we've still got Santa to believe in" so, with a double blow I ended that final magical memory for them both! Poor Paddy's face! He has "known" for a while but has wanted to keep believing, but I think actually hearing it hit him harder than he expected! Boy have I been feeling rotten all afternoon. I have entrusted them with the "big kids" job of keeping the secret for the little kids, and they both went off to Cubs happily, but boy do I feel awful:(

Oh that is so sad. Poor Lol and Patrick. Jalen often questions but when I say they are real he is happy and doesnt ask again (for a while). I remember when I found out - I was sooo sad. It was in grade 3, so I know Jalen will know soon, but I feel sad for him. Its just not the same when you know truth.

They both went off to bed no problem. I thought Lol might get sad when she had a chance to think about it but she's OK. It was far worse for me !!!

How do you think I felt Kylie - after all it was my suggestion to break the awful news to them. Your story about Patrick cracked me up though - he is such a lovely boy. Poor Sis - I do think she had an inkling about it all. Now, you will really have to hide the Christmas presents.
