Don't leave it too late!

Lauren has just completed the School Fire Education Program. One of the activities is to draw a plan of your house and include all the exits - windows and doors, and the safest routes to a safe meeting place. One thing I learnt last year when Patrick did the program, was that if you keep winding wind-out windows past fully open, the chain will break allowing you to push the window wide open to get out!Kids are great at this kind of thing, as they make you get organised and practice - and remind you how important it is to have a plan! You just have to read our local paper today to see three separate incidents involving fires - two of which claimed the lives of children. If you haven't got a plan - make one today!

In a fire, don't forget to "crawl low and go, Go, GO!"

I checked our alarms after reading this - thanks for the reminder.
