"I URGE Premier David Bartlett not to mess with a great thing.
In Peter Hudson's words (The Examiner Sept.29) 'if we mess up what we've already got, which is pretty damn good, and then we don't get our own team, I would be heartbroken'.
If we had a Tasmanian AFL team, we would more than likely lose the Hawthorn Football Club - 2008 Premiers and a huge asset to our State. I feel certain that we would never get the huge crowds that the Hawks are getting at Aurora Stadium (or Hawks Stadium) for a Tasmanian team.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it"!

This issue fires me up evey time! You can't tell me that just because we get an AFL team here, that die hard supporters of other clubs are going to "drop" their teams to support Tassie. I've been to Hawks games here in the past, and been outnumbered by opposition supporters in the stands -like Carlton and Western Bulldogs fans- the majority of them from Tassie. Are they, and all the Hawks supporters in Tassie, going to "jump ship" just because Tasmania get their own team? I don't think so!
Yeah - we agree!! Aaron said it would take at least 10 years for a Tassie team to get any following and it would be from all the young kids - not others jumping ship to go for the Tassie team. Although Aaron did say yesterday that it might get some of the try hards off the band wagon ;) They finally have something good in Tassie and they decide they want to mess with it.
I don't know :) who needs the hawks anyway. Tassie cant support a team fulltime, it wouldnt work.
I wont even mention my first thought when I read the blog title :)
Hey Christian, When ARE you back in Tassie again??? Oh, by the way, I forgot to mention that all you need to do to improve your lounge room, is to remove that unsightly frame from the far right near the window!
