Getting the message through!

I think the kids are really starting to realise what a huge impact the bush fires in Victoria are having on families. The way I best described it to them is to imagine it was them and that they had nothing left - NOTHING - not a pencil, a toy, a photo, clothing - anything! Today they helped me make up a few "back to school" bags with some new items they donated, and some new things we bought this morning. there was not a single "what about me?" or "can I have one?" today, just quiet concentration as they filled book bags and wrote labels!
Patrick with some of the school items for the bags. Lauren was camera shy!
Ready to go to a collection centre.
We just thought about the kinds of things that we'd like in a similar situation - like toiletries, and a few things to make school a bit easier like socks, drink bottles, lunchboxes, pencil cases labels etc. We just hope it makes a few families lives a little easier!
Thanks to Mystate Financial and Prospect Vale Marketplace News for their donations and discounts:)

My kids love Bakugan - what a good idea putting things in bags they can re-use. Let's hope all the donations go to the right places.
