Bad Dream Bear.

When Lauren has bad dreams, I let her have my old bear "Humphrey"
I got Humphrey as a toddler, and as you can see, he's seen better days!
He's in pretty good condition considering he's close to 40, and that he survived a house fire (after some TLC from Mum). Humphrey was on the top of my wardrobe in the house where we had the fire. His hard plastic nose was melted and ran down past his chest, and had hardened in a solid piece when the firey's hosed the room down! His red mouth ran (looks like he has lipstick on), he had to have his singed fur trimmed (bald patches!), and it took ages before the smokey smell was gone, but it was worth it! He seems to help Lauren settle. I loved him and took him everywhere.
"Humpy" and I in the garden at Riccarton, Campbell Town
Simon and I aged 5 and 6
As usual, Simon is being silly!!!

That brings a smile to my face.
Chrish has a monkey, that he has had since he was a baby,. It also got burnt and has had numerous 'surgeries' over the years.
I found him in a box of Chrish's belongings in the attic a few years back, so I packed him in my suitcase, and took him all the way to Sydney.
Now he sits on the couch in the loungeroom.
The old friends are the best friends.

Oh wow - that is amazing that you still have him, especially after the house fire - nice that Lauren loves him too.

Lisa, Mark and Simon went in after the fire and got my stuff out, but most was ruined. I said I didn't want any of it, but luckily they saved a few "treasures". All my uni work - including my diploma - went "up in smoke" though, or was water logged:(

I also went into the house, and it was one of the tougher things that I have had to do in my life time. 17 years since that dreadful fire, not something you ever forget. We are so lucky to still have Kylie with us. Came very close to losing her. I can't imagine life without her.
